Ooh, intrigue. Katy Perry, 31, told 97.1 AMP Radio host Booker that she’s recording her new album with producers she hasn’t necessarily worked with before. “I’m growing as an artist — I’m working with different producers that maybe people wouldn’t imagine me to work with, or different co-writers or things like that,” Katy said. “I am right in the thick of it, doing a lot of experimenting and definitely taking some chances this record,” she added.
Sounds exciting! Katy didn’t reveal exactly who she is working with, but we would just freak out if one of the producers turned out to be Calvin Harris, 32 — because it would mean a Taylor Swift diss track is more than likely to appear on the album. LISTEN:
As for why it’s taken her so long to follow up to 2013’s Prism, Katy said she’s in no rush. “I can take a little time…I think when music is good, nobody remembers the time it took to make it,” Katy pointed out. “Let’s just say that you won’t think of the time when you hear the record.” High praise, if Katy does say so herself!
Finally, the “Dark Horse” singer teased the sound of the new album. “I’m going for music that connects and relates and inspires…I play with a lot of different themes and stories and sounds and phonics and stuff like that. So I don’t think there’s anything that I can’t try,” she said. Can’t wait!
HollywoodLifers, tell us — are you excited for Katy’s next album? Would you just die if she worked with Calvin Harris on it?
