Congratulations are in order for Jesse Metcalfe and Cara Santana! The ‘John Tucker Must Die’ star recently popped the question to his longtime girlfriend and treated her to a jaw-dropping 5.5 carat sparkler! We’ve got all the details here!
Cara Santana, 31, likely had the time of her life on Aug. 13, when her longtime beau Jesse Metcalfe, 37, proposed to her aboard a 50-foot sailboat in New York City. The actor knew just how to dazzle his fashion blogger girlfriend, pulling out a STUNNING 5.5-carat emerald cut diamond while asking for her hand in marriage. Cruising along the Hudson river, the lovebirds enjoyed the gorgeous scenery as they watched the sunset. Swoon! And did he stop there? Oh no, the Desperate Housewives hunk carefully planned out every detail of their big day. He even made sure to have Eric Clapton’s “Pretty Girl” playing in the background. SEE HER RING HERE.

“It’s been a long time coming, but we couldn’t be happier,” Jesse recently gushed to Us Weekly. The pair has been dating for almost TEN years, so were guessing Cara is through the roof about their future life together as husband and wife! Jesse’s thoughtful proposal came right before her 31st birthday on Aug. 15. He took to Instagram to commend the special occasion, sharing an adorable photo of them during their romantic date, reading, “What a weekend! Meant to get this up yesterday, but was too busy celebrating. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my baby!!!”
The sweethearts have been together since 2008, but did break up for a short while in 2011. Jesse previously explained to Your Tango what made the power couple stick together through the hard times, saying: “It was more of a slow burn, which I think is a better start for a relationship. I think if it comes on fast and furious, it generally fizzles out just as fast. We were slow and steady.” We bet he’s so excited to call Cara his fiancee!
HollywoodLifers, can you believe that Jesse proposed to Cara after all these years?! Sound off below!
