It’s been two years since Robin Williams’ shocking death on Aug. 11. His costars on ‘Hook’ recently reunited and couldn’t not speak about their very own Peter Pan.
In honor of the film turning 25 in December, the Lost Boys from Hook got back together for a photo shoot, and to remember the man who played Peter Pan in the 1991, the late Robin Williams. Robin committed suicide at the young age of 63 in 2014.
“I think for all of us [Robin’s death] was the death of our childhood,” Dante Basco, who played Rufio told Entertainment Tonight. “There’s sadness there, also there’s a lot of space to kinda celebrate one of the most legendary artists of our time… [Robin] really taught me at a young age what it means to be a star, what it means to be a leader on a set. Everything you want Robin Williams to be he delivered in spades.”
Of course many are honoring Robin at the time. His daughter Zelda Williams, 27, also is remembered her father at this time by taking a break off social media.
“So, it’s that time of year again. I will be taking another break off social media. For those who always ask why, it’s so people can memorialize Dad on the anniversary of his death however they wish without me having to feel bombarded by it, or pressured by the expectation put on myself or my family to publicity acknowledge or join in doing so,” she wrote in a Twitter post on August 7. “I will always be so grateful for all the love the world had and continues to have for dad, but for obvious reasons, it’s sometimes harder to be the sort of surviving public vessel for receiving those sentiments, and one often expected to somehow flawlessly express them back.”
She ended the post with, “Thus, I’ll be excusing myself for a bit. Hearts just need little breaks sometimes!”
As always, our thoughts are with Robin’s family at this time.
