Kim Kardashian’s sleek lob may have just been a wig, but the reality TV star keeps bringing the blunt style back. With fall just around the corner, if you’re looking to freshen up your look, there’s never been a better time to copy Kim. Ahead, we’ve got stylist tips on how to copy the chic cut.
Kim Kardashian, 35, provided some major hair inspo for fall with her blunt lob cut. And if you’re looking for tips on how to get the look, IRL (as opposed to having a hairstylist expertly style and apply a wig for you every day), we have the expert how-to.
Nick Stenson, Matrix StyleLink Celebrity Stylist told HollywoodLife that when you head to the salon, “Ask your stylist for an asymmetrical lob.” Nick added that the weight of the cut should be at the perimeter, and of course, you should always bring pics of the look from multiple angles so your stylist knows exactly what you want.
As for maintenance, Nick said that despite its detailed look, it “isn’t crazy.” Nick said to plan for trims every four to six weeks. “The longer you go, the less sharp and structured the cut will look,” he explained. “So don’t exceed the six-week mark,” he added on how to keep the blunt style looking fresh.
As for styling, Chris Appleton, the stylist behind Kim’s wig, shared his exact how-to over on her app. To give the hair that glossy look, Chris said to apply Oribe Supershine Moisturizing Cream to damp hair and blow your hair out as smoothly as possible. Once dry, create a deep side part, then use a flat iron to get a poker straight finish. For a high-shine finish, Chris recommended the Ouai Hair Oil. And to lock the style in place, mist the hair with L’Oréal Elnett Satin Hairspray.
