It’s been 20 years since JonBenet Ramsey was viciously murdered, and her case has still not been solved. The docuseries ‘The Case Of: JonBenet Ramsey’ is taking a deeper look at the intriguing case and desperately trying to solve one of the nation’s biggest mysteries. Here’s everything you need to know.
*Original investigators of the JonBenet murder will be reopening the investigation.
The original investigators include former New York City prosecutor, retired FBI supervisory special agent and profiler Jim Clemente; world-renowned forensic scientist Dr. Henry Lee; former chief investigator for the District Attorney in Boulder, Colo., James Kolar; leading forensic pathologist Dr. Werner Spitz; and retired FBI supervisory special agent and forensic linguistic profiler James Fitzgerald.
New experts, including former New Scotland Yard criminal behavioral analyst Laura Richards and retired FBI supervisory special agent and statement analyst Stan Burke, will be joining the team. They’ll be working together to try and solve the case that has plagued the world for 20 years.
*The docuseries won’t be airing weekly.
Instead of airing new episodes on a week-to-week basis, the docuseries will air one night a week after the premiere on Sunday, Sept. 18. There are 6 episodes total.
*The team is pulling out all the stops for docuseries.
The team will be re-examining important evidence using advanced technology and forensics. They’ll also be recreating the crime scene by rebuilding full-scale replicas of key rooms from the Ramsey house, conducting extensive interviews and introducing new theories.
JonBenet was founded murdered in the basement of her family’s Colorado home on Christmas Eve in 1996. She was just 6 years old. She died after struck on the head and strangled. Both her parents and brother were suspected of killing JonBenet, but were later exonerated.

JonBenet: An American Murder Mystery will premiere on Monday, Sept. 12, on Investigation Discovery, a full week before the CBS docuseries. Lifetime also just ordered a TV movie based on JonBenet Ramsey’s murder.
