Jessica Alba’s Honest Company and subsequent beauty line are all about making life a little bit easier for busy moms. Ahead of back-to-school season, we chatted with Jessica’s makeup artist for his top tips on mastering a five-minute beauty routine and switching up your look for fall.
As a businesswoman, actress and mom of two, there’s no doubt that Jessica Alba, 35, is always on-the-go. But despite her hectic schedule, Jess always looks picture perfect. Behind her effortless glow and edgy red carpet looks is makeup artist and Creative Color Consultant for Honest Beauty, Daniel Martin.
Sharing all of his best beauty advice with HollywoodLife, Daniel revealed exactly how you can be out the door in five minutes while still looking put together. “Grooming your eyebrows, a couple taps of color on the cheeks with the Honest Beauty Crème Blush and curled lashes with mascara gives any busy mom that instant pick me up,” he said. “For a more polished look, use the cream blush on your lips,” he added about the makeup multitasker.
For days when you have more time to experiment with you makeup, Daniel spilled on what trends will be big for fall. “You’ll be seeing quite a few beauty throwbacks from the ’90s this season, which inspired my Honest Beauty Falling For You Makeup Palette of deep aubergine [shades] to glittery coppers.” While Daniel added that the statement lip isn’t going anywhere (Jessica swears by her Truly Kissable Lip Crayons), spider lashes and new takes on eyeliner will also be big this fall according to the pro.
But mastering fall beauty doesn’t have to mean a whole new set of tools. “The best and easiest transition from summer to fall makeup is a focus on color,” Daniel said. “Use a neutral toned cream blush to add depth and longevity to eyeshadows and dark shadows as eyeliner close to the lash line,” he advised. “It’s about switching up HOW you use colors rather than buying all new makeup.”
