Wow, this is SO sad! Bresha Meadows, an Ohio teen, is facing murder charges for allegedly shooting her father with his own gun! But as awful as that is, her mother claims the 14-year-old was only trying to save her family from further domestic abuse — even calling Bresha her ‘hero.’
While Bresha Meadows, 14, has been accused of fatally shooting her own father, she’s also being praised by her mother, Brandi Meadows, for being a “hero” who saved her family from the clutches of an abusive drunk. Bresha fatally shot her dad, Johnathan Meadows, 41, in the head just before 4 a.m. on July 28, according to Daily Mail.
Cops do not currently know what led up to the shooting, but witnesses claim that Bresha shot her father with his own gun, which also allegedly happens to be the same weapon he regularly would threaten his family with. So while some see Bresha as a murderer, others see her as an angel — someone who saved both her life and her family members’ lives.
In fact, Brandi gave an emotional interview to local Fox affiliate WGHP about her daughter’s arrest for the murder of her husband. And while Brandi did shed many tears, none of them were for her husband. She claimed that Johnathan would get drunk and threaten to kill her and her daughters with his gun.

“She is my hero; I wasn’t strong enough to get out and she helped me,” Brandi told the local station. And to Bresha’s credit, she did reportedly try other means of getting her and her family help in the past. In fact, back in May, she fled from home and went to stay with her aunt, Martina Latessa, who’s a Cleveland police officer.
“She was begging me for help,” Martina told the station. And Martina tried to help by taking Bresha to the Warren police and contacting the Trumbull County Department of Job and Family Services. But unfortunately the Warren police told her there was nothing they could do to help her.
“She was very, very scared for her mother’s life, her life, and sisters’ life,” Martina revealed. “From day one she was born into a nightmare.” In addition, the only documents found by the courts regarding the Meadows’ troubles was an order of protection filed by Brandi against Jonathan. The motion was filed and later dropped in 2011.
Bresha is currently behind bars as she faces aggravated murder charges, but Brandi is begging for mercy to be taken on her daughter. “I am so sorry she had to go through this,” she said on Aug. 4. “She is my hero. She helped me; she helped all of us so we could have a better life.”
