Week 2 of ‘America’s Got Talent’ live shows had its first terrifying moment on Aug. 2, when Ryan Stock was accidentally shot in the neck by his assistant Amberlynn during their act. Did their scary mishap cost them a semifinals spot? Find out with our recap right here!
Of course the show had to start off with Nick Cannon talking with Ryan and Amberlynn about what went wrong during their performance the night before. While it seemed like Amberlynn’s aim was off, both she and Ryan claimed that it was actually an “equipment malfunction” versus bad aim…not so sure I believe that, but hey, at least he’s okay.
The three acts who were in danger in Week 10 of the competition were Kadie Lynn, Sal Valentinetti, and Throwings, whose fate would be revealed later in the show. First up on the chopping block were Sos & Victoria and The Clairvoyants, and the first act going through to the semifinals is…The Clairvoyants! Didn’t see that one coming at all (cough cough).
Viktor Kee and Steven Brundage are next, and I am freaking out. I love both of these acts, and I doubt no one wants to see either go home. Oh wait…THEY’RE BOTH THROUGH!! Nick sure knows how to make me panic!
And next comes the moment of truth: Ryan Stock & Amberlynn were up against FLIP and Sofie Dossi. Looks like we won’t be seeing any more horrifying “equipment malfunctions,” because Ryan Stock & Amberlynn are officially out. Sofie Dossi, on the other hand, is in!
We’ve now got two incredible singers against each other: Moya Angela and Calysta Bevier. The power of Simon is strong, because his Golden Buzzer girl (Calysta) is through to the semifinals! Remember when I said that this season is going to be won by a teen? That’s still going strong, and if Kadie Lynn gets through too, it’ll hold even more true!
The last-minute votes have been tallied, and the act America wanted to see again is Sal Valentinetti. He had more than 46 percent of the votes, so clearly viewers would’ve been devastated to see him eliminated! Let’s be reminded why America loves him, huh?
There’s still one spot left, and it’s between Kadie Lynn and Throwings. This one is the judges’ call — but if you remember last week, they were split with their votes and it came down to America’s votes anyway. Who will it be?!
The judges have contemplated, and it’s decision time. Howie Mandel‘s vote goes to Throwings, as well as Mel B, who promised she’s “fighting” for them. But Heidi Klum made things interesting with a vote for Kadie Lynn, and Simon Cowell made it an even split (once again) by voting to save Kadie as well. So it’s ultimately up to America, and…..they want to see Kadie Lynn in the semis!
So the seven acts who made it through this week are: The Clairvoyants, Viktor Kee, Steven Brundage, Sofie Dossi, Calysta Bevier, Sal Valentinetti, and Kadie Lynn. To refresh your memory, these acts will be joining Musicality, Jayna Brown, Laura Bretan, Jon Dorenbos, Tape Face, Lori Mae Hernandez, and Deadly Games in the semifinals. AGT is taking a two week break because of the Olympics (which kick off Friday, Aug. 5), so we’ll see you again on Aug. 23 for the last 12 contestants to compete!
