Prepare to be blown away by Star Swain’s rendition of the National Anthem on Night 4 of the DNC! In case you’re not familiar with how incredible this viral star is, watch her sing America’s anthem at the Lincoln Memorial back in June right here.
Star Swain, 34, went viral on the Internet in June when a Facebook Live video of her singing the National Anthem in Washington D.C. exploded online. The clip now has over 35 million views, and earned Star a big enough following to book a HUGE gig: She’ll be performing during the final night of the Democratic National Convention on July 28!
“I am super excited,” Star, who is an assistant principal at a middle/high school in Florida, gushed. “This is an opportunity of a life time. I must thank all my supporters for helping me get this far.”
This won’t be the last we’ll see from her either — on July 26, she shot a music video for her brand new single, “Home Of The Brave.” She also sang the “Star Spangled Banner” at an event in Las Vegas last weekend, and, amidst all this, Star is working toward a doctoral degree at Florida State University. Talk about ambitious and super inspiring, right?!
On the same night that the 34-year-old performs for the whole country at the DNC, Hillary Clinton, 68, will officially accept the Democratic party’s nomination for president. It’s been a star-studded week at the convention, with Bill Clinton, President Obama, Michelle Obama, VP Joe Biden and more taking the podium to support the party’s candidate, and things are definitely going to end on a high note with all that’s expected to go down tonight!
HollywoodLifers, what did you think of Star’s performance? Are you excited to see her at the DNC tonight?
