Who’s ready for the return of the big bad bat? Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who plays the villainous Negan, reveals that his character is going to be ‘wreaking havoc’ on ‘The Walking Dead’ this season He warns things are going to ‘end badly’ for some of your fave characters!
“It’s a reset on The Walking Dead world. It’s f—ing Negan’s world now,” Jeffrey Dean Morgan, 50, told Entertainment Weekly in their new cover interview. “What you’re going to see in the first half of this season is Negan wreaking havoc. And some of your characters that you’ve grown to love are not going to be on the show anymore, and it’s going to end badly for them.”
Jeffrey, who’s played a number of notable TV characters over the years, says this season and Negan’s arrival is a game-changer. “It’s going to be a whole new beginning for The Walking Dead,” he said. “Really, we’ve taken the show and just flipped it upside down. It’s a different show now. It’s going to have a different feeling. You’re going to see your favorite characters in a position that they’ve never been in before, which is super vulnerable and victimized.”
Negan was first introduced in the shocking season 6 finale of The Walking Dead. The last scene is all of our favorite characters — Rick, Glenn, Daryl, Carl, Maggie and more — on their knees. He plays a sinister game and ends up killing someone with his baseball bat that’s covered in barbed wire.
In the first trailer for season 7, Negan relishes over his kill and the blood of his victim drips from the bat. The trailer revealed nothing as to who bit the dust, leaving us hungry for more. The character posters only teased us more. Every single character has the bat pointed at their face. The Walking Dead season 7 premieres Oct. 23 on AMC.
