Uh oh! Taylor Swift was shockingly completely left out of the MTV Video Music Awards nominations, and on July 27 a source told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that she thinks Kanye West might be to blame! We have all the details, right here.
“There are people close to Taylor that believe Kanye (West) could be behind this,” a source told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY after Taylor Swift didn’t get nominated for a VMA. “They believe he gave MTV an ultimatum. There’s no proof but no one would put it past him.”
It’s definitely odd that Taylor wouldn’t receive a single nomination from the MTV Video Music Awards this year, since she put out three next-level amazing videos for “New Romantics,” “Out of the Woods” and “Wildest Dreams.” “It’s a huge slap in the face to be left out like this,” the source complained.
Kanye, on the other hand, is doing just fine with nominations. His controversial hit “Famous” (which infamously said “I made that b*tch famous” about Taylor) is up for two awards, Best Male Video and most importantly Video of the Year, against Drake, Adele, Justin Bieber and Beyonce. That’s some stiff competition!
On the other hand, another Taylor insider says the singer isn’t blaming Kanye, pointing out that a song that Taylor worked on DID get a nomination. Calvin Harris and Rihanna’s “This Is What You Came For” is up for Best Male Video (which is up against Kanye West’s “Famous”) and Best Collaboration, and we all now know that Taylor not only wrote the song, but also sang on part of it, so it’s kind of like she’s nominated after all!
