It’s FINALLY here! The first look at the ‘Gilmore Girls’ revival has been revealed. Netflix released the very first trailer for ‘Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life’ on July 27, and Lorelai and Rory are still the same girls we know and love. Click to WATCH!
The trailer starts out with that familiar Gilmore Girls tune we love so much. We see familiar places in Stars Hollow — Luke’s, the Dragonfly Inn and the town square. Does anyone else have chills? It’s been so long since Gilmore Girls has been on the air, but now it feels like we never left.
The tagline for the four-part Netflix event reads: “Some things may change, but some things never will.” That’s when we center in on Lorelai and Rory, our Gilmore girls.
“Do you think Amy Schumer would like me?” Lorelai asks Rory over a Pop Tarts dinner. “No,” Rory replies, sending Lorelai into a frenzy. She pleads with Rory to tell her why Amy wouldn’t like her.
“Watersports,” she says. “Every single time I see her in a magazine, she’s on vacation doing watersports.” Lorelai shows her disgust for watersports, making it clear that a friendship with Amy is never going to be in the cards. She follows up with, “Do you think John Oliver would think I’m hot?” Because, duh, it’s Lorelai! Once a Gilmore, always a Gilmore.
One thing I have to point out: Both Lorelai and Rory aren’t wearing wedding rings. Does that mean Lorelai and Luke still aren’t married? Is there still hope for Rory to end up with Jess, Logan or Dean? This could be a move to throw us off and not give away spoilers. I see you, Amy Sherman-Palladino!
The end of the trailer features the show’s beloved theme song, Carole King’s “Where You Lead.” Lorelai and Rory still look and act exactly the same. Gilmore Girls went off the air in 2007, but now the show is back for a four-part revival series that airs on November 25. Raise your hand if you can’t wait!
Immediately after the trailer was released, Amy responded to Lorelai. “I’ve only done 2 water sports and they took pictures of it both times. I promise I usually just lay there (sex too),” she tweeted. Can we get the girl a cameo?
