The results are in! America has voted for the first time in Season 11 of ‘America’s Got Talent,’ and seven acts are through to the quarterfinals. Which acts did viewers want to see continue on? Find out right here!
After seeing a recap of the highlights from the first night of America’s Got Talent live shows, we find out the three acts that are on the bubble: Deadly Games, Hara, and Lori Mae Hernandez. One of these acts would be saved by viewers who voted to keep them around while watching the live results show. But considering how different they all are (a pair of knife throwers, an illusionist, and a tween comedian), we had a feeling the voting would be awfully close!
It was between high school a cappella group Musicality and 90-year-old dancer Dorothy Williams for the first reveal of the night, and after a long pause of suspense, Nick Cannon announced that it was Musicality who made it to the semifinals first. Tough to see the adorable Dorothy go home, but it’s hard to deny that Musicality deserved that spot!
OMG, hold up. Next up were Jayna Brown and Laura Bretan, who had two of the most breathtaking performances of the night in Week 9. How could one of these girls be going home?!
Well, Nick yanked our chain. BOTH girls were through to the semifinals! Not surprising, but man were we nervous over that one!
Facing elimination next were Outlawz and Daniel Joyner. Considering Simon pressed his buzzer during Outlawz’s performance, we were thinking Daniel was probably the one to make it through. But turned out, neither of them made it. What the heck?! That was SO rude of Nick!
Sila Sveta, Tape Face, and Jon Dorenbos were up against each other next, and it was Jon who made it through! But wait…Nick had another announcement to make — one of the two remaining are through too! And yep, you guessed it: TAPE FACE! Let’s relive his weirdness, shall we?
Time to find out who America saved while watching the live results. Remember, it was between Deadly Games, Hara, and Lori Mae Hernandez. Before Nick revealed who was through to the semifinals, chants of Lori’s name roared in the Dolby Theatre. That served as foreshadowing for what was about to happen, because Lori Mae was the one to be saved!
One more spot remains, and this one is up to the judges. It’s between the two left from the bubble: Deadly Games and Hara. Heidi put in one vote for Deadly Games, then Mel B chose Hara. One to one. The next decision is up to Simon, who chooses Deadly Games. But then Howie picks Hara, so it’s up to America once again! And the viewers’ vote goes to…Deadly Games!
So, your first seven acts through to the semifinals are: Musicality, Jayna Brown, Laura Bretan, Jon Dorenbos, Tape Face, Lori Mae Hernandez, and Deadly Games. What an assortment of talent, huh?!
