JoJo Fletcher is getting a lot of backlash after sending home Chase after inviting her into the fantasy suite — but let’s not hang her out to dry just yet.
One of JoJo‘s main concerns coming in to The Bachelorette was getting her heart broken, just like she did during Ben Higgin‘s season of The Bachelor. So she went in to it vowing she’d stay true to herself, let the guys go as she feels it, and not say “I love you” until she was 1000 percent sure he was the one she would chose.
Even when she realized she was falling in love for both Robby and Jordan, she didn’t tell either one of them. She went into the dinner with Chase before fantasy suites feeling great, and when the offer stood, she wanted more time. He hadn’t dropped that L-bomb yet, and didn’t until they got in the suite. So for her to realize then she didn’t feel it is okay. Many (myself included) have been in that position when you realize your heart’s just not there.
He said he felt like she was telling him to “get the f–k out,” but let’s be honest. If she stayed overnight with him only to send him home in front of the other guys the next day, it would have been humiliating for him and his feelings would have been even stronger, meaning it would hurt even more. Why would she string him along if she knew that ultimately she didn’t feel the way about him she felt about Jordan and Robby?
Would it have been easier for her to spend the night with him, have fun, and send him home the next day at the rose ceremony with Chris Harrison at her side? Sure. But she didn’t take the easy way out — instead she was honest with him. And I have to commend her for that.
HollywoodLifers, do you think JoJo did the right thing? Let me know.
