Michelle Obama provided Donald Trump with a heavy dose of reality during her speech at the Democratic National Convention. A president can’t hide behind his or her Twitter and simply bash opponents; they actually have to do the heavy lifting of doing the hard parts of the job!
Michelle Obama‘s speech was a blockbuster, and guess what? It was completely un-plagiarized! The First Lady of the United States of America proved to be one of Hillary Clinton‘s most powerful allies when she gave a rousing, highly complimentary speech at the Democratic National Convention on July 25. And on top of that, she became one of Donald Trump’s most scathing critics. You want to mess with Michelle, Donald? Watch out.
“This election is about who will have the power to shape our children for the next four or eight years of their lives,” Michelle pointed out. “And I am here tonight because in this election there is only one person who I trust with that responsibility, who is qualified to be president. And that is our friend, Hillary Clinton.” READ MICHELLE’S FULL DNC SPEECH HERE
But Michelle proved once again in 2016 that she can put together and deliver one hell of a speech after last week’s revelation at the Republican National Convention that Melania Trump, 46, plagiarized her 2008 speech from the DNC. Despite the fact that she wasn’t stumping for her husband, President Barack Obama, for the first time in eight years, Michelle spoke with passion and explained just why she was voting for Hillary in November. Michelle also spoke to the experience herself and her family have had, living as the first black family in the White House.
“That is the story of this country, the story that has brought me to this stage tonight. The story of generations of people who felt the lash of bondage, the shame of servitude, the sting of segregation, but who kept on striving and hoping and doing what needed to be done so that today I wake up every morning in a house that was built by slaves. And I watch my daughters, two beautiful, intelligent, black young women, playing with their dogs on the White House lawn.”
“And because of Hillary Clinton, my daughters, and all our sons and daughters, now take for granted that a woman can be president of the United States. So, look, don’t let anyone ever tell you that this country isn’t great. That somehow we need to make it great again. Because this, right now, is the greatest country on Earth!”
