Donald Trump’s son may be following in his footsteps! As Donald Trump Jr. continues to help his dad win the race for president in 2016, he admitted in a new interview that he may want a political future of his own — as mayor of New York City!
“I never like to rule anything out,” Donald Trump Jr., 38, told CNN’s State Of The Union, regarding his future in politics. “As my father has always said, I want to — we always like to keep our options open. So if I can do that as a service to our country, I’d love to do it.”
He added that, for now, his focus is on getting his father, Donald Trump, 70, into the Oval Office, but wasn’t shy about adding that he’d “love to” run for mayor of New York City after the 2016 presidential election is over.
Trump Jr. made headlines after making a powerful speech at the Republican National Convention last week. In his address, he discussed his dad’s tactics as a business man, and reminded voters why he thinks Don Sr. would make such a great president.
“[It was] exciting to be able to have a platform like that to speak my voice,” he explained afterward, adding that he had a “good time” at the podium while speaking to the large crowd in Cleveland.
Don Jr. and his wife, Vanessa Haydon, were married in 2005 and have five children together. His siblings, Ivanka Trump and Tiffany Trump all also spoke at the Republican National Convention, and it’s clear that the presidential candidate has a strong support system in his corner. Will it be enough to win him the election in November?!
HollywoodLifers, do you think Donald Trump Jr. should run for mayor of New York City!?
