THAT escalated quickly! Kate Middleton & Prince William have been accused of animal cruelty over a cute pic of Prince George feeding ice cream to their dog. And the photo, released for the little royal’s 3rd b-day, has the Internet completely freaking out — read the crazy tweets here!
In photos released for Prince George‘s third birthday on July 22, the youngster can be seen posing next to the family dog, Lupo. And while the portraits truly are precious, some social media users apparently see something much more sinister than a little boy playing outside. In fact, Prince George and his parents, Kate Middleton, 34, and Prince William, 34, have been accused of animal cruelty because of one pic where George feeds Lupo an ice cream bar, despite dogs being allergic to the cold treat.
But Twitter users have definitely taken the issue too far with some of these harsh tweets. I mean, let’s be real, similar images are likely to appear in many family photo albums across the country, but of course, the royals are under public scrutiny constantly, so it’s no surprise they’re under fire for something so seemingly innocent. But these animal cruelty campaigners are NOT being easy on the three-year-old and his parents, one even calling George a “monarchist monster.”

Now, experts do warn that dogs are allergic to both dairy AND chocolate, and feeding them milk-based products — such as ice cream — could in fact cause them digestive issues. But at the same time, some other Twitter users brought up some great points about the controversial picture. First, the dog isn’t actually eating the ice cream in the pic, and second, it could in fact be dog-friendly ice cream.
But either way, the overall consensus on Twitter is that George and his new portraits are adorable! And we have to agree, the little cutie has certainly outdone himself this year. We just hope the future king has an amazing birthday!
Tell us, HollywoodLifers — what do YOU think about Prince George’s new portrait pics? Is it fair people are accusing him and his family of animal cruelty?
