This should be an epic cricket match that the West Indies will be hoping to win on their own patch. The Windies welcome tourists India to the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua and Barbuda on July 21 at 10am EST. It’ll be Test cricket of the highest order, so click here for the live stream to watch!
Now, the Windies are on a wretched run of form against India, losing an incredible 15 Tests in a row against their illustrious rivals. India are ranked the second best team in the world, behind Australia, while the West Indies sit all the way at the bottom of the rankings in 8th.
Seeing that this is a best of 4 Test, all will not be lost if you drop game 1. There will be plenty of time for each team to recover their composure with the bat and the ball. However, say it’s the Windies who do drop the first game, and you’ll start to wonder if they’ll believe they could get back into the Test.
But saying that, they have players capable of upsetting India, should the visitors not play to their potential. With batting stars coming in at 3 and 4 in the form of Darren Bravo and Marlon Samuels, they will be hoping to score the runs they will need.
Seeing the pitch in Antigua and Barbuda is a slow one, that won’t favor the bowlers at all, so this could be a game where runs are scored very slowly indeed. All eyes will be on India’s off-break bowler, Ravichandran Ashwin who is hoping to become the number one bowler in the world rankings with a stellar performance.
