Whoa! Kanye West reportedly tried working things out with Taylor Swift after his controversial song, ‘Famous,’ was released, but she allegedly ignored his phone calls. And then, when she called Kanye out for his ‘misogynistic’ song at the 2016 Grammys, she pushed him over the edge. If only she had answered his phone calls…
…maybe things would be different.
“When Taylor [Swift] initially freaked when the song debuted at the Yeezy show, Kanye [West] tried calling Taylor again and reaching out to her,” a source told Us Weekly. “She was unresponsive to his outreach.”
So could that be why he and Kim Kardashian decided to release the private phone call on July 17? Well, sort of. What reportedly tipped her and Kanye over the edge was when Taylor called the rapper out for his “misogynistic” song during her acceptance speech at the 2016 Grammy Awards.
“I want to say to all the young women out there — there are going to be people along the way who are going to try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame. But if you just focus on the work and you don’t let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get where you’re going, you’ll look around and you will know that it was you and the people who love you who put you there. And that will be greatest feeling in the world,” she said while on stage February 15. Obviously, it was a major dig at Kanye.
“They wouldn’t have released that tape had she not dedicated her Grammys speech to bashing Kanye for something she was aware of,” the source further told Us Weekly. On the bright side, however, “Kim and Kanye hope that one day they can make up with Taylor. They aren’t interested in having this beef.”
But now that the truth is out, Kim feels much better. The source said, “Kim was sick of it for them, for their kids, for everyone who believes in them, and she was not going to let people take Kanye down.”
