One day of the Republican National Convention down, and onto the next! On day 2 of the RNC, on July 19, a long list of prestigious speakers will discuss Donald Trump’s economic plans. Click through for the full list of speakers!
The RNC’s second night is themed “Make America Work Again,” combining presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump‘s campaign slogan with tonight’s theme: Trump’s (very unclear) views on the economy. The speakers will discuss the state of the economy as it stands in 2016, and bash opponent Hillary Clinton’s own economic plan.
While there is no information as of yet spelling out what time each speaker will take the podium, the RNC has listed the order in which they will speak. Live coverage of the event starts at 5:30pm ET, and ends at 11:00pm ET. In order of appearance:
House Speaker Paul Ryan
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell
UFC president Dana White
Businessman Andy Wist
Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson
Professional golfer Natalie Gulbis
House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie
Donald Trump Jr.
Dr. Ben Carson
Businessman Phil Ruffin
General manager of Trump Winery Kerry Woolard
Michelle Van Etten of Women in Business for Trump
There you have it! In addition to waxing poetic about the economy, some, if not all, of the speakers will likely talk vice presidential candidate Mike Pence. The Indiana governor is set to make his big speech on Wednesday, July 20, and the Republican party is still getting used to the new candidate. It’s time to praise him and assure voters that he’s the guy to prop up Trump. Surely they believe, that, right?
It’ll be interesting to see Paul Ryan speak, since the House Speaker is not fond of the party’s nominee. But he’s settled to voting for Trump in order to keep the party united. What will he actually say? Chris Christie is another wildcard. He’s been extremely loyal (maybe too loyal) to Trump since he dropped out of the presidential race himself. But now that Trump passed him over for the vice presidential position, Chris could be saying anything. Let’s hope nobody plagiarizes their speech this time!
