If parts of Melania Trump’s speech at the Republican National Convention sounded familiar to you, here’s why: It was basically the EXACT same as a a speech Michelle Obama made back in 2008! Watch to see the shocking comparisons that have people accusing Donald Trump’s wife of plagiarism here.
While addressing the crowd in Cleveland on July 18, Donald Trump’s wife discussed values like “you work hard for what you want in life” and “your word is your bond and you do what you say and you keep your promise.”
These are both basically direct quotes from what Michelle Obama, 52, said at the Democratic convention when Barack Obama was running for president in 2008! “Barack and I were raised with so many of the same values. Like, you work hard for what you want in life,” she mentioned. “That your word is your bond. That you do what you say you’re gonna do.”
We literally cannot make this up — and there’s even more where that came from! There are multiple portions of Melania’s speech that seem to be pulled right from Michelle’s previous message, and you HAVE to check out the entire video above to see more of the crazy comparisons.
After recognizing how similar the speeches are, the Internet has totally blown up with people bashing Melania Trump, 46, for plagiarizing the current First Lady, but the Trump campaign has denied the accusations.
“To think that she would do something like that knowing how scrutinized her speech was going to be last night is really just absurd,” campaign chairman Paul Manafort told CNN on July 19.
Meanwhile, Donald took to Twitter to praise his wife after her speech at the convention, and definitely made no mention of these plagiarism accusations. “It was truly an honor to introduce my wife Melania,” he wrote.. “Her speech and demeanor were absolutely incredible. Very proud!”
