In a sit-down interview with MIH TV, Nicholas Hoult, Kristen Stewart and director Drake Doremus giggled after Hoult claimed he made his new film as a “tribute to Tom Hiddleston and Taylor Swift.” Wait, but wasn’t Nicholas totally fangirling at Taylor’s concert last summer? Hmm…

It all started when Drake, the director of sci-fi romance film Equals, starring Kristen and Nicholas, discussed the unorthodox approach to acting in this project. “This process is all about trust, at the end of the day. The process of getting there is all about exploration,” he said. Nicholas quickly quipped, “Well, I made it as a tribute to Tom Hiddleston and Taylor Swift.”

“To their relationship?” the interviewer clarified. “Yeah,” Nicholas replied, absolutely straight-faced. Well, that’s interesting because he and K.Stew play characters in a futuristic, emotion-free society, who try to figure out their attraction to each other by long periods of staring. So, is his comment a jab at Taylor’s new relationship?

Funny enough, just a year ago, Nicholas was photographed screaming Taylor’s lyrics while attending her concert with his X-Men co-stars. Who knows, maybe her songs even helped him get over his relationship with ex-girlfriend, Jennifer Lawrence.

Nevertheless, Nicholas’s comments come at a time when everyone seems to be weighing in on Taylor, her relationships and her life. From questioning the authenticity of her relationship with Tom, to her never-ending public feuds with Kimye, Calvin Harris and Katy Perry, Taylor’s life has been under serious scrutiny. In the last 24 hours, Kim Kardashian released a video via Snapchat of Kanye on the phone with Taylor, rapping her the lyrics he wanted to use for his now-hit song, “Famous.” Taylor appears to have approved the lyrics, “For all my south side n*****s that know me best, feel like me and Taylor might still have sex.” Eek!

Whether Nicholas’s comments were harmless or not, we can’t help but feel for Taylor during this crazy time.

What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Do you feel badly for Taylor or do you think she had it coming?
