Whoa! Carrie Fisher may have spilled a major secret about ‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’ at the Star Wars Celebration in London. Will the movie feature Han Solo’s funeral? Get the details here!
During a Q&A session with fans, Carrie was asked what happened between Return of the Jedi and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It seems like Carrie got confused and thought she was being asked about what happened between The Force Awakens and Episode III because she replied, “Han’s funeral.” Could the funeral of one of the saga’s most beloved characters be in Episode VIII? Let’s hope so!
Carrie then went back and revealed what went down between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. “Han and I had a volatile relationship,” she said, according to our sister site Variety. “We have space estrangement. We had a child who turned out to be Hitler. You’d feel bad if he turned out like that. I did spank Adam (Driver) when I first met him.”
She was also asked if Leia will find love again in Episode VIII. “God, I hope so,” she said. ”I don’t know. I wear a huge dress. Maybe they will add it in post.”
The Star Wars Celebration event also officially introduced Alden Ehrenreich, 26, who will play the young Han Solo in a standalone movie. He revealed that casting took six months and he had to screen test with Chewbacca.
Christopher Miller, who will be directing the Han Solo movie will Phil Lord, also said that thousands auditioned for the role, but “it was a waste of money because the person to get the part was literally the first person to walk through the door.” The Han Solo movie is expected to hit theaters on May 25, 2018. Star Wars: Episode VIII will hit theaters on December 15, 2017.
