Is there still hope for Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver? A new report revealed that even though they split over five years ago, the pair have yet to finalize their divorce.
Arnold, 68, is still very much married to his wife, Maria, 60, despite the fact they went their separate ways in July 2011, reports TMZ. The pair are even seeing other people, although they’ve never actually finalized their divorce so that they would be legally single. Is that weird, or can these two just not get over each other?
The report reveals that Maria and Arnold did not have a prenup, so after it was revealed that he had an 18-year-old love child with their former housekeeper, they split without immediately divorcing. Instead, the pair reportedly worked out a property settlement that split up a $400 million fortune and had zero custody issues. After the split happened, Arnold became a part of his estranged son’s life, Joseph Baena, and has formed a strong bond with the love child that ruined his marriage.
Interestingly enough, neither of them have ever shared why they refuse to sign the paperwork and get their divorce over with. Part of the reason could be that Maria is reportedly very religious and doesn’t believe in divorce, though if she’s seeing someone else while married that doesn’t exactly go hand-in-hand. Hmm.
