In his first-ever press conference as Donald Trump’s Vice President pick, Mike Pence took aim at their opponent, Hillary Clinton, in a scathing rant about her politics. Yikes!
It’s official: Indiana Governor, Mike Pence, 57, has accepted Donald Trump‘s invitation to run alongside him in the 2016 election. The potential Vice President addressed the press for the first time since being announced as Donald’s pick, and of course he used the opportunity to totally trash both Hillary Clinton, 68, and Barack Obama, 54. Shocked? Of course not.
“I answered this call for two reasons. First, because I know from firsthand experience that strong, republican leadership can bring about real change,” Mike stated during his press conference on Saturday, July 16. “Just like we’ve seen in the Hoosier State. And secondly, because Hillary Clinton must never become president of the united states of America.” Ouch.
Mike continued, “Americans can choose a leader who will fight to make America safe and prosperous again and bring real change, or we can elect someone who literally personifies the failed establishment in Washington DC. Seven and a half years of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton’s policies have weakened America’s place in the world and stifled our nation’s economy.”
The attack on Hillary didn’t end there, as Mike went on to blame her and Barack for the recent terror attacks on civilians all over the world. “Terrorist attacks at home and abroad, grim and heartbreaking scenes from France just a few short days ago. The attempted coup in Turkey, all attest to a world spinning apart. History teaches us that weakness arouses evil. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama’s foreign policy of leading from behind, moving red lines, feigning resets with a resurgent Russia, and the rise of ISIS is a testament to this truth of history and we must bring a change to America’s stand in the world. We can not have four more years apologizing to our enemies and abandoning our friends.”
“America needs to be strong for the world to be safe. On the world stage, Donald Trump will lead from strength, he will rebuild the arsenal of democracy, stand with our allies, and hunt down and destroy the enemies of our freedom,” Mike finished with, standing firm behind his running mate after taking aim at those threatening their chances of winning the election in November 2016. You can watch Mike’s FULL speech above.
In a hilarious but slightly annoying turn of events, it took Donald a solid 28 minutes to introduce Mike to the crowd. The presidential hopeful spent that time doing what he does best, which is talking about himself and his accomplishments, in a jumbled speech before bringing out his VP pick. However, he spend a (brief) moment sending his thoughts and support to the people of France following the devastating attack in Nice on Thursday, July 14.
