Blake Lively wants it to happen, so let’s make it happen! The star dished at the July 13 of ‘Cafe Society’ that she would ‘love’ to see a third ‘Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants’ movie. Click to WATCH!
“We would love that,” Blake Lively, who is expecting her second child, said in the E! News interview. “You know, we are such good friends. But to bring it back after so many years—it would have to be something that would really respect and honors the story in a way that makes it worth it to come back after so long… It would have to be a story that has grown with our audience.”
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, which was inspired by a series written by Ann Brashares, was released in 2005 and instantly became a classic. Young girls strongly identified with the movie’s tale of love and friendship among these four friends. The movie’s sequel was released in 2008. As the girls worked together over the years, co-stars Blake, 28, Alexis Bledel, 34, America Ferrera, 32, and Amber Tamblyn, 33, became very close.
This isn’t the first time that hope for a third Sisterhood movie has made the rounds. America revealed that a third film was “in the works” on the Meredith Vieira Show in 2015. She even said there was a “script being written.” Let’s see this movie, people!
The girls recently reunited in July 2016 for a fun get-together. In a series of photos, Blake, Alexis, America and Amber all showed off their love for one another with a huge bear hug. The girls leaned on each other amidst the tragic Dallas police murders and the killings of Philando Castile and Alton Sterling. No matter what, these girls will always have each other — just like Tibby, Lena, Carmen and Bridget!
