Wow, after a series of miraculous events, a baby boy under the age of 1 was reunited with his family after the devastating attack in Nice on July 14. And the heartwarming reunion was made possible by Facebook! Get all the incredible details below.
In the terror that followed the horrific attack that took place on Bastille Day in Nice, France, a baby boy — who was described as being between 8 and 10 months in age — went missing. But luckily, this story has a happy ending as he was reunited with his family — all thanks to the help of Facebook and some very kind individuals.
Friends of the infant’s mother ended up turning to social media for help in the hectic aftermath of the July 14 attack, which killed at least 84 people after a man identified as Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel drove a truck into a packed crowd during Bastille Day celebrations.
The friends pleaded with Facebook users to help them find the youngster, and the posts ended up going viral! “If you see this child: CONTACT ME,” one of the women, Yohlaine Ramasitera, posted alongside an image of herself with the unnamed child. She also noted that the boy had been sitting inside a blue stroller.
Rebecca Boulanger, another friend of the boy’s mother, shared a similar post using the same photograph. “VERY IMPORTANT: in the rush of things with shots being fired some friends of our friends lost their baby boy!!!” she wrote. Rebecca also explained how several family members were out searching for the child, and she asked for any leads that could help determine his whereabouts.
Later, Rebecca updated her post, saying the child had been found! “Baby has been found!!” she wrote. “A lady took him in, the family is on their way to go get him right now ! THANK YOU SO MUCH for your prayers !!! and also thank you to all those who shared the posts !!” And even later, she provided one final update, “BABY IS SAFE WITH HIS FAMILY.” Talk about a heartwarming moment in the midst of pure tragedy.
Apparently an unidentified woman had taken the unattended little one back to her home for safety. “She then went online and found the photo of the baby on Facebook,” a friend of the family told AFP. His relatives were then able to go and collect him. WHAT a beautiful miracle. Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of victims of this horrific attack.
