“I got this letter after he retired,” Derek starts out. “‘Dear DJ, congrats on your outstanding career. You’ll forever have my respect. If you’re ever in my neck of the woods, I’d love to sit down for dinner. I have a Groupon for Red Lobster where $40 gets you $80 worth of scampi. Let me know, as these things expire.’ He’s always been cheap.”
From the New England Patriots locker room, Tom reads the letter he got from Peyton, and it’s brutal. “I just want you to know I think of you like a brother,” the letter says. “A brother who lost to my other brother all the time.”
