Oh, no! Just before they were set to take the stage, police were forced to evacuate the venue where Nick Jonas and Demi Lovato’s ‘Future Now’ tour was located. So scary!
Nick Jonas and Demi Lovato, both 23, had quite the scare when their New Jersey concert venue was evacuated by local police. After a suspicious package was found on the premises, officers had no choice but to remove everyone from the building right before the concert to ensure everyone’s safety.
The Honda Civic Future Now Tour is much better safe than sorry, especially after a scare on Tuesday, July 12 in Newark, New Jersey. At approximately 3pm a suspicious package was discovered resting near the exterior wall of the massive concert venue, and the Newark Police Department quickly got involved to handle the scary situation, reports TMZ.
The report claims that Demi was definitely not inside the venue at the time of the scare, but that Nick had been there for soundcheck at some point throughout the day. After the package was inspected, it was later revealed to just be a random microwave. It’s still unclear why someone left the appliance in the street, but overall it’s great news that there was nothing to be worried about.
Once all was clear, police confirmed that they only evacuated a building near the Prudential Center and not the actual arena itself. Either way, doors had not opened yet so no fans were in the building and the concert later went off without a hitch. Phew!
Demi and Nick’s tour is well underway, and they should be on the road together until the end of September 2016. Click HERE for tickets and show details in a city near you!
