The first night of ‘America’s Got Talent’ Judge Cuts made for some seriously tough decisions for the judges, and night two wasn’t any easier. Far more than just seven acts were unbelievable — but who made the cut?
Another 20 up, another 13 gone! It was tough to see so many talented acts go home in the first two nights of America’s Got Talent Judge Cuts, but there sure will be some incredible performances in the live shows. After watching a slew of different acts, guest judge Reba McEntire helped the panel make some majorly difficult decisions on night two of Judge Cuts!
Appropriately, night two kicked off with a country singer. No pressure in front of a country legend like Reba, huh? Simon Cowell’s little “diamond” from the auditions, 12-year-old Kadie Lynn Roberson, gave yet another powerful performance and solidified her spot as a Simon favorite. Keeping the “wows” coming, contortionist Vello Vaher made everyone’s jaws drop with his new body-bending routine. Not only did he make his body do some crazy things, but he folded into a ball and flew across the stage — holding himself on the rope by his teeth!
Two rap acts didn’t seem to impress the judges after two pretty incredible performances, so we may not be seeing any adult rappers in the live shows. But an 11-year-old rapper? Now we may be talking! Skylar Katz had everyone on their feet from the start thanks to her epic rap skills and total swag. What a star!
Dancer Erik Cavanaugh put on a great performance that Simon admitted did raise the bar from his last audition, but that could hardly even compare to self-made contortionist Sofie Dossi. She did so many impressive things, balancing herself on a hoop with just her head and eventually shooting a flaming bow and arrow perfectly…with her feet. Sounds amazing right? Reba sure thought so — and hit her Golden Buzzer!
Aaaand then come the chills with the next act. Moya Angela absolutely slayed her powerful rendition of Heart‘s “Alone,” making four of the five judges jump out of their seats by the end. Simon was looking for Moya to take a little risk with the performance, but c’mon Simon, risks can be taken in the live shows!
Remember when kids were taking over the auditions? Yep, that’s still happening. Ballet dancer Parker Garrison and dance crew Youngster had everyone impressed, and then baton twirler Cody Carter turned up the heat twirling flaming batons. To top it all off, magician Kadan Bart Rockett performed a flawless magic trick that blew everyone’s minds! With only six spots left, how would the judges choose? They weren’t sure either!
Comedians Adam Grabowski and Julia Scotti had two very different performances: Adam was a complete bust, and Julia had the crowd busting with laughter. Hmm, wonder who would be the comedian to make it through…
Once again, we have two similar acts with two completely different performances. Both have magic, but only one had jaws dropping. After music and magic duo Cecile and Mighty gave a not-so-impressive performance, Rubik’s cube magician Steven Brundage (the only one in the world, in fact) left everyone stunned with his amazing Rubik’s/card trick!
Gary Sladek, who wowed the judges with his daredevil routine last time, brought his brother Broadway Jim along for a comedy act to “show his versatility.” Unfortunately for Gary, it completely backfired, and no one was enthused. So Deadly Games came along and completely changed that! After having a scary accident in rehearsal, the husband-and-wife knife-throwing act was incredible!
There were so many solid second auditions tonight that the judges seemed to be faced with their toughest decisions yet. But the contestants going through to the live shows are…
Golden Buzzer contestant Sofie Dossi, Julia Scotti, Kadan Bart Rockett, Deadly Games, Vello Vaher, Moya Angela, and Kadie Lynn! Congrats everyone!
