Lil Wayne could be ‘playing with fire,’ if he’s ingesting sizzurp. According to an expert who spoke with HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY about the rapper’s recent seizures, if Lil Wayne is using the substance sizzurp, his life could be at stake. Read on for the full details.
Lil Wayne, 33, has had TWO major seizure attacks in less than a month — one just last week — and friends and fans are becoming increasingly worried about the rapper’s mortality. HollywoodLife.com has learned EXCLUSIVELY, that if Lil Wayne is using the substance sizzurp, which has been reported, then he is putting himself at a greater risk of triggering a deadly seizure next time. Read on for the EXCLUSIVE interview with our expert.
“Lil Wayne is playing with fire if he drinks alcohol or sizzurp,” Dr. Bruce Lee, M.D. told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “Alcohol can trigger the seizures, and sizzurp can trigger the seizures. The cough syrup that is used to make sizzurp contains several drugs that can cause seizures. These drugs are codeine, a narcotic, and promethazine, a cough suppressant.” Dr. Bruce continued, “If Lil Wayne uses these drugs, his seizures could turn deadly. He could lose consciousness and this is a health risk because he could stop breathing, which could cause further brain injury and even heart damage.” How terrifying.
For those who may not know, sizzurp is a combination of prescription-grade cough syrup and soda. Sizzurp, a.k.a. purple drank, lean, or syrup, the mix is highly addictive due to the codeine in the cough syrup, and has dangerous side effects: slowed heartbeat, shallow breathing, blurred vision, agitation and hallucinations.
Hours before his massive seizure mid-flight on June 13, Weezy allegedly drank a large amount of sizzurp, something he’s rumored to do often. But after that scare, Wayne said he was going to keep imbibing, according to a source who spoke to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. So if the rapper is in fact drinking sizzurp, a deadly seizure could be around the corner.
Because Lil Wayne has said that he’s had seizures since childhood, Dr. Bruce told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY, that “if you have seizures as a child, and they continue into adulthood, this usually indicates a brain disorder” and he should be on anti-seizure medication. “He may not be on the correct medication or he may not be taking his medication. In order to reduce the risk of having seizures, he needs to be on the proper medication and refrain from alcohol and sizzurp.” We really hope that Lil Wayne’s health improves soon, and that if he is drinking alcohol and sizzurp he stops immediately.
