‘Supernatural’ is heading into uncharted territory in the fall — its 12th season! Does the show have plans to end in the near future? Creator Eric Kripke is sounding off on the fate of the Winchester brothers!
Could the end of Supernatural be near? The show returns this fall for its 12th season, with Dean and Sam Winchester still going strong. Creator Eric Kripke revealed his future plans for the show, especially about how long he thinks Supernatural will last!
“As long as Jared and Jensen, who are the heart of the show, are up for it, then anything’s possible,” he told Collider. “I mean, there’s as many episodes as there are ghost stories. And there’s thousands of ghost stories, so as long as everyone’s having fun and Jared and Jensen want to do it, then we’ll keep doing it.”
So it’s all up to Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles! The boys have been on the show since the very first episode. They been to hell (literally) and back over the course of the past 11 seasons — a total of 243 episodes thus far — and they’ve got a lot more adventures left in them. It’s safe to say season 12 won’t be the last season.
Supernatural returns to The CW on Oct. 13. Season 12 will have 23 episodes, just like the past 5 seasons.
HollywoodLife.com’s sister site TVLine learned that Jensen will be directing an episode of season 12, but it won’t be early on in the season. Jensen and Jared, along with co-star Misha Collins, are set to appear at San Diego Comic Con on July 24.
