Yay! This makes us happy. Two of our favorite inspirational beauties – Ashley Graham and Amy Schumer – seemed to be feuding on July 7 after Ashley dissed Amy in her Cosmo interview. Luckily, the two talented women made up on Twitter the same day! See their apologies, here.
Ashley Graham, 28, and Amy Schumer, 35, have officially made up! The supermodel and comedienne got into a brief feud over the term “plus-size,” but they took to Twitter on July 7 to put their differences aside and shower each other with praise. See their kind tweets, right here.
This makes us all warm and fuzzy inside! We love both Ashley and Amy for promoting body acceptance and love, so we were heartbroken to hear Ashley dissed Amy in her new Cosmo interview on July 7. She took issue with the fact that Amy didn’t want to be called “plus-sized” when she embraces the term herself. We were worried that Amy would get offended and continue the feud, but instead she took a very mature approach and nipped it in the bud.
“I totally understand Ashley’s feelings. I don’t group myself in with her because she is unbelievably beautiful. Nothing but respect for her,” to which Ashley responded “I have the greatest respect for @amyschumer! So glad to be able to exchange thoughts, ideas & opinions w/ another incredible female force.” Amy capped it off by saying “Rock on girl. I’m so grateful for you. You inspire me!!!” So sweet!

This all started back in April when Amy posted on Instagram that she wasn’t pleased to be put in the “Plus Size” issue of Glamour without her permission. “I think there’s nothing wrong with being plus size. Beautiful healthy women. Plus size is considered size 16 in America. I go between a size 6 and an 8. @glamourmag put me in their plus size only issue without asking or letting me know and it doesn’t feel right to me. Young girls seeing my body type thinking that is plus size? What are your thoughts? Mine are not cool glamour not glamorous.”
Ashley didn’t love that statement, and addressed it in her Cosmo interview. “I can see both sides,” she said, “but Amy talks about being a big girl in the industry. You thrive on being a big girl, but when you’re grouped in with us, you’re not happy about it? That, to me, felt like a double standard.” We’re glad they figured out how to work through it!
