Uh oh! Tom Sizemore has found himself in hot water again, this time for mowing over a stuntman on the set of his new TV show ‘Shooter.’ Keep reading for the details on how this tragic event happened.
So sad! A stuntman has been seriously injured after an SUV driven by actor Tom Sizemore, 54, ran him over while shooting a scene for his new TV show. The troubled actor backed over the man and pinned him under the vehicle until a dramatic rescue took place.
Tom was shooting a scene for Shooter which was being filmed July 6 at Agua Dulce Airport north of Los Angeles. According to TMZ, they were filming a sniper scene where Tom was supposed to run into an awaiting Cadillac SUV and just sit there in the vehicle until the scene ended, but for some reason he put the vehicle in reverse, hit the gas, and ran over the stuntman. It’s not clear if he knew the man was behind the SUV.
Eyewitnesses tell the site that eight men on the set tried desperately to lift the car off the injured man. Equipment was eventually brought in and they were able to jack the car up and free the man, who is said to be in “really bad shape”
The show co-stars Ryan Phillipe, 41 and Omar Epps, 42 and is based on the 2007 film by the same name about an American marksman trained in counter intelligence who is on the run from the U.S. government.
While Tom is a brilliant actor, he’s battled demons for years. In 2003 he was arrested for assault and battery against then-girlfriend and former Hollywood Madame Heidi Fleiss, 50. He later was sentenced to 7 months in jail and four months in drug treatment for repeatedly failing drug tests while on probation. He battled methamphetamine addiction for years and ended up on the third season of Celebrity Rehab in 2010.
Tom has appeared in such films as Saving Private Ryan, Pearl Harbor, Black Hawk Down, as well as the TV series Hawaii 5-0.
