These poor girls. Even though the liars were still be reeling from Hanna’s (Ashley Benson) abduction, they turned their focus to Alison’s (Sasha Pieterse) rescue on the July 5 episode of Pretty Little Liars. Were they be able to bypass Uber A’s threats? Find out!
During a group chat between the girls at Hanna’s loft, Emily (Shay Mitchell) told everyone how she saw Elliot and Mary Drake (Andrea Parker) arguing as if they already knew each other. After hearing what Emily had to say, they all expressed their worry for Alison.
Then, when we got an update from Alison in the hospital — she was busy trying to attack Elliot when he came into her room. Unfortunately, he overpowered her and injected her with something. Then, he strapped her entire body up — even her face! (Poor Alison!)
Spencer (Troian Bellisario) made a pitstop at Toby’s (Keegan Allen), but his fiancee, Yvonne, answered the door. She expressed her disinterest in Spencer and Toby working on “favors” together, and then, she flashed her engagement ring in Spencer’s face. Poor Spencer — she had no idea they were engaged. (Surprise!) When she ran home to tell Caleb (Tyler Blackburn), she started questioning their own relationship. She then demanded answers about his feelings to Hanna, and that’s when Caleb told Spencer he kissed Hanna. When Spencer asked him point blank if he still has feelings for Hanna, he couldn’t find the courage to say anything.
The other girls then went to check on Alison at the hospital. They reported the situation to someone in charge, but when he read Alison’s file, which was given to him by Rollins, everything looked okay. Everything except that evil smirk Elliot gave the girls.
Since they didn’t succeed at the hospital, the girls — sans Emily — then went to Alison’s house to see what they could find in Elliot’s locked chest. Inside were a bunch of surgical tools, as well as some interesting medications. Aria did the dirty work — she took pics of everything — while Spencer and Hanna stalled Elliot outside the house. Plus, when Spencer and Hanna were waiting outside, Hanna assured Spencer there was nothing going on between her and Caleb. She said Caleb’s her past and Jordan’s her future. Clearly, she’s still pretending she’s engaged.
Back at home, Spencer sifted through all the information Aria found and realized Elliot has ingredients to make latex masks. Then, when she saw a picture of blue contacts, she and Emily realized Rollins impersonated Detective Wilden to make Alison seem crazy.
Meanwhile, Aria and Hanna went on their own mission and discovered Elliot may have had a relationship with Charlotte, which would give him motive to go after Alison for supposedly killing her.
When Spencer and Caleb met back up and talked about their awkward conversation in the morning, he told Spencer how “sexy” he thinks she is, but she said that’s the problem — he only likes her, while she loves him. She said she wants to be with someone who thinks about her morning, noon, and night. So as much as we hate to say it, it seems like that was the end of Spaleb. (Sigh.)
Later, Elliot realized someone had broken into his locked chest, so he went back to the hospital, grabbed Alison, and left. Alison, however, managed to text the girls from Elliot’s phone and sent them a pin drop of their location. That way, they could follow Alison and try to rescue her.
In a moment of panic, Alison attacked Rollins, jumped out of the car, and ran for her life. And when Elliot and Alison ran in front of the girls in their car, Hanna hit the gas and slammed into Rollins, killing him instantly. So he’s the one the girls were burying in the season premiere!
