Malia is definitely showing that the apple does not fall far from the tree. She is reportedly leaving in a few weeks, according to TeenVogue, and will have plenty to offer as she already speaks Spanish fluently. Malia even served her dad, President Barack Obama, 54, as his translator during their recent trip to Cuba. It’s unknown as to whether the Head of State had anything to do with her latest accomplishment, but we’re sure Malia will show she’s perfectly qualified for the job!
This isn’t the smart cookie’s first summer internship either, she previously beat out the competition in 2015 to help out the cast of the hit HBO series Girls starring Lena Dunham, 30. The year before, Malia also worked as a production assistant for 49-year-old Halle Berry’s CBS show Extant. Way to network!
It’s certainly been an exciting time for the academic. The White House first released the statement regarding the first daughter‘s college acceptance on May 1. “The President and Mrs. Obama announced today that their daughter Malia will attend Harvard University in the fall of 2017 as a member of the Class of 2021.” Major props to Malia, considering many how rigorous the competitive selection-process can be. Malia previously toured New York University, Columbia University, along with Stanford University and the University of California at Berkeley.
Malia ultimately chose Harvard, following in the footsteps of several other presidential families such as John Quincy Adams and his son, John Adams II; Abraham Lincoln’s son Robert; the sons of FDR and Theodore Roosevelt; John F. Kennedy‘s daughter Caroline; and George W. Bush.
