Johnny Manziel’s troubles keep going from bad to worse. The NFL has suspended the ex-Cleveland Browns quarterback for 4 games after he violated the league’s substance abuse policy!
It looks like Johnny Manziel’s NFL comeback is going to have to wait a little while longer. The troubles 23-year-old quarterback got some bad news, as his known history of party just earned him a major suspension!
The league handed down its punishment on June 30, per TMZ Sports, sacking Johnny with a 4-game suspension for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy. The suspension, sources tell TMZ, was NOT due to a performance enhancing drug. It’s not like Johnny has a way to actually serve this suspension, as he’s been jobless ever since the Browns cut him in March 2016.
So, if one NFL team decides to throw Johnny a bone and give him a shot, he’ll have to sit out the first 4 games of the 2016 NFL season. Thankfully, sources tell TMZ that the suspension does NOT roll over, so if Johnny doesn’t find a team for 2016, he won’t have to miss the first month of the 2017 season.
This suspension is also unrelated to Johnny’s current legal problems. He was indicted in April 2016 over his alleged assault of his ex-girlfriend, Colleen Crowley, 23. The reported attack took place on Jan. 30, where he reportedly struck her multiple times and threatened her life. These allegations are the second time Johnny has been accused of a domestic dispute with Colleen, as highway police pulled them over after they were seen having a violent argument inside their car.
This suspension is the latest of bad news for Johnny. Along with the substance abuse and the domestic violence allegations, Johnny has been dealing with a history of car crashes. Johnny’s Nissan GTR was reportedly t-boned while it was inside a parking garage near his Dallas, Texas apartment. While the damage was extreme, it wasn’t as bad as what happened on April 9. While he and his buddy, Ryan Silverstein, were driving on the Sunset strip, they smashed right into a pole! Judging by the wreckage, the former-QB is lucky to be alive.
Do you think Johnny will find a team for the 2016 season, HollywoodLifers? Or do you think this 4-game suspension just sunk his chances of finding a job this year?
