Who you gonna call? — Lyft! Listen up everyone, because we’re going to tell you exactly how YOU can ride in style like Melissa McCarthy and the rest of her ‘Ghostbusters’ crew in an Ecto-1! Yes, you heard right.
With the upcoming release of the new, highly anticipated ‘Ghostbusters‘ film, Sony Pictures is teaming up with Lyft to give fans like YOU the chance to ride in Ghost Mode just like the stars in the film, in an Ecto-1. THIS is epic. Get the details right here!
In honor of Ghostbusters hitting theaters July 15, Sony Pictures has partnered with Lyft to launch Ghost Mode. The promotion, running on July 1 and 2 from 10 AM-6 PM, will give riders the chance to become a passenger in an Ecto-1 from the new film.
But, not everyone can be so lucky — this epic opportunity is only available in select cities. So, if you live in Boston, Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco or Washington D.C., then you have a chance to ride like a Ghostbuster!
Interested Lyft riders can easily access this limited time option, on the Lyft app, by simply tapping to request Ghost Mode for a free ride in original Echo-1’s from the film and replicas, Entertainment Weekly reports.
That’s not all! Not only will riders get a chance to travel in style, but the Ecto-1’s will be decked out with sweet treats and refreshing beverages. The “tricked out” rides will contain Hi-C Ecto Cooler to quench your thirst and Ghostbusters-themed Twinkies, according to Lyft — because who doesn’t need the proper fuel when Ghostbusting through their city, right?
Make sure you check out if you can ride an Ecto-1 in a city near you! For live updates on Ghost Mode, you can follow @Lyft and #LyftGhostMode on Twitter!
Earlier this month the film’s old cast members reunited with the new ones on Jimmy Kimmel. Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones all hung out with Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts. Now, THAT’S a crew!
So, while we’ve been patiently waiting for the film to come out, we’ve been jamming to the new theme from Fall Out Boy!
