Pharrell Williams took a recent walk down Sesame Street where he teamed up with Cookie Monster and Elmo to teach kids about reading! And, doing what he does best, the singer busted out a toe-tapping tune to get his message across — we dare you NOT to smile while watching!
Pharrell Williams, 43, is ALL about reading — and he couldn’t help singing about it on the June 29 episode of Sesame Street. While jamming out with Elmo and Cookie Monster, the Grammy-winner proved that with a book it’s possible to go anywhere and see anything! Pretty neat, huh? Take a listen to the adorable new song and just TRY to keep it out of your head!
The song, called “B is for Book,” explains to kids that reading is a wonderful way to escape into a different world and learn about new things. And in the clip, Pharrell can be seen taking a journey with Elmo and Cookie Monster using their imaginations. “You can go anywhere without leaving a chair by reading a book,” the singer crooned! What a positive message!
“You can be anything: a pirate, a king — just grab a book,” he continued. The upbeat track even goes on to reference a few childhood classics by giving a nod to the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland and Little Miss Muffet from her namesake poem. “Have tea with the hatter, if he’s mad it don’t matter ‘cause he’s inside a book,” Pharrell sang. And Elmo and Cookie Monster were totally into the jam — looking up at Pharrell awestruck that all of this was possible through reading!
Even better though, this new collab comes on the heels of a slew of celebrity appearances that took place on the children’s show earlier this year. From John Oliver, 39, to Jack White, 40, Sesame Street has certainly featured some famous faces — including Nick Jonas, 23, who sang a song about shapes just last month back in May!
How adorable is this new Sesame Street song, HollywoodLifers? Do you love that Pharrell helped make it happen?
