Chris Brown, 25, was hosting a VMA pre-party in the summer of 2014 when rap mogul Suge Knight, 49, was shot seven times early in the morning at the party. Nearly two years later, Suge is suing Chris for the incident, claiming that it’s his fault the security was inadequate. Read on for the full story!
Per TMZ, Suge is claiming that Chris and the nightclub “should have had better security” when the former was shot in the abdomen, chest and left forearm. In his suit, Suge calls Chris out for being a “known gang associate with a history of hosting events where violent incidents happened”. Whoa! He also claims that he’s experienced huge health complications, including a blood clot, since the shooting occurred.
We’ve been keeping you updated about this incident since it happened. At the time, fans feared for the lives of both artists, and Suge went in and out of emergency surgeries before making a miraculous recovery. Sources told us that Chris supported Suge through the ordeal, telling “him that if there was anything he needed, to ask him”, though that now seems to have meant nothing to Suge. Graphic photos of Suge’s surgery scar were then leaked in Sept. 2014.
Suge is currently in jail, awaiting trial for murder, as he allegedly killed his friend Terry Carter in a hit and run in Jan. 2015. The co-founder of Death Row Records also sent two others to the hospital in the episode, which was set off by a fight on a movie set in Compton, CA. Truthfully, suing Chris should be the least of his worries right now.
