Lil Wayne, 33, might be in big trouble. A new report says that he punched a doorman in the face at Hyde nightclub in Los Angeles, CA after the BET Awards on June 26 — read on to hear all about this shocking event!
UPDATE: Officer Tony Im, LAPD Office of Public Information, tells HollywoodLife.com: “At around 12:50am, an altercation took place in the 8100 block of W. Sunset Blvd. A battery report was taken and it’s an ongoing investigation.”
Lil Wayne allegedly hit a doorman at the nightclub after the awards while he and 2 Chainz were hosting an after party, TMZ reports. The doorman has filed a battery report with the Los Angeles police. Sources claim that some of Lil Wayne’s friends got turned away at the door, and that’s when things got heated. The site reports that the rapper and the bouncer fought over who could get in, and the doorman says that that’s when Lil Wayne punched him. The bouncer allegedly went to the hospital, though the injuries were reportedly minor, before calling the police.
In contradiction to this report, sources tell the site that Lil Wayne denies punching the bouncer, and claims that the employee was actually working in the VIP section throughout the night. The insiders admit there was a “brief altercation”, but only as a result of the bouncer accidentally grabbing Lil Wayne by the arm before realizing who he was. Lil Wayne allegedly apologized to the employee, but TMZ says that the LAPD are investigating the situation, and are looking to speak with Lil Wayne — who could still could be held accountable for a misdemeanor battery.
