Janelle Monae added a colorful twist to her signature beauty look at the 2016 BET Awards with a custom manicure. The singer added accents of purple nail art to her white nail polish as part or her tribute to music legend, Prince. Get the details on her BET look, ahead.
Janelle Monae, 30, sported the most unique manicure of the night at the BET Awards in Los Angeles. Before the award ceremony took place on June 26th, the CoverGirl spokesmodel gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at her beauty look for the night, which included her signature red lip and winged eyeliner.
In her Snapchats that she shared while she got ready for the big night, Janelle revealed she was wearing CoverGirl Queen Collection Stay Luscious Lipsticks in 730 Jubilee, which has a moisturizing formula that’s waterproof and long-lasting — perfect for performing onstage!
For her eye makeup, Janelle turned to CoverGirl’s Perfect Point Plus Eyeliner in Black Onyx for the perfect winged liner look she loves so much. And, she completed her makeup by lengthening her lashes with CoverGirl Queen Collection False Lash Drama Mascara in Very Black.
But while we’ve come to expect the perfect makeup look from Janelle, it was her nails that caught our attention this time around. To add a fun twist to her look, Janelle’s nails were painted in a crisp white shade with accents that included sparkling gems and purple ‘P’s’ in honor of Prince.
Janelle later took the stage during the ceremony to give a performance in tribute to Prince, singing his song, “Kiss.” Though she was one of several of the evening’s tribute performances, Janelle certainly made hers a memorable one by baring her butt, just like Prince famously did during one of his performances.
How cool was Janelle’s manicure? Did you catch her BET Awards tribute performance to Prince?
