Brace yourselves. Characters are going to die in the ‘Game of Thrones’ season 6 finale. The director of the finale confirmed in a new interview that ‘people die’ in the final episode of this season. Place your bets now!
Not everyone is going to make it out of the Game of Thrones season 6 finale alive. The episode’s director, Miguel Sapochnik, revealed that “people die” in the extra-long episode. Will the Starks lose another, or will the drama in King’s Landing end with another Lannister biting the dust?
“People die,” director Miguel Sapochnik told The Hollywood Reporter. He didn’t elaborate, but his words are enough to have us shaking in our shoes. Deaths on Game of Thrones aren’t a rare thing, but when any major character dies on the show, it’s a big deal.
Gemma Whelan, who plays Yara Greyjoy, said the finale is “thrilling, epic and overwhelming.” Dean-Charles Chapman, who plays Tommen Baratheon, said the episode is “worth waiting for.”
After the previous episode’s triumph for Jon Snow and Sansa in the North, a big part of the season finale is going to return to King’s Landing. Cersei goes on trial, and it’s unfortunately not a trial by combat. There’s a mind-blowing theory about how this trial goes down for Cersei.
In the preview for the season finale, Jon Snow and Sansa will be dealing with the aftermath of the Battle of the Bastards. In all likelihood, with Ramsay dead, they’ll probably make it to season 7. Jaime does not return to King’s Landing for Cersei’s trial, but instead goes to The Twins to see Walder Frey. Tyrion also warns Daenerys about what it’s like to be in the “great game.”
The Game of Thrones season 6 finale airs at 9 p.m. ET on HBO. Stay tuned to HollywoodLife.com for all of the finale coverage.
