This is absolutely devastating, and just so tragic for the father. A Texas mother shot dead her two daughters aged 22 and 17 and was then killed by cops, after a family dispute spilled into the streets outside a normally peaceful suburb of Houston on June 24. Click here for the tragic details.
This is just too sad for words. Christy Sheats, 42, shot dead her two daughters Taylor Sheats, 22, and Madison Sheats, 17, after a family argument spilled out into the streets in Fulshear, TX on June 24. Police received multiple calls from local residents and when they arrived on the scene they shot Christy after she refused to drop her pistol. Taylor sadly passed away on the street, while Madison had to be airlifted to hospital, where she died later.
Cops said that they received a call around 5pm from Christy’s neighbors that reported the disturbance, and they found the bodies of both Taylor and Madison on the ground in the 6000 block of Remson Hollow Lane. According to the report, Christy was still holding the gun when an officer asked her to drop the weapon. She wasn’t compliant, which gave the officer no choice to open fire.
As of yet, there hasn’t been any confirmation that Christy was pointing the gun at the officer in question, or at one of her daughters. The sheriff’s office confirmed that Madison was dead when cops first arrived on the scene. Taylor was transported to a Texas hospital, where she died from her injuries on June 25.
The distraught father, who was home at the time of the incident, was taken to the hospital unharmed. But he must’ve been absolutely devastated by what had gone on, which is still being investigated.
Sheriff Nehls told the Houston Chronicle: “It was a family argument that turned into a shooting. But we’re still trying to put the pieces together. Right now, all we can do is try to pray for the father and the husband so he can try to work through this.”
And we can only echo that sentiment, our best wishes go to the father during what must be an absolutely horrific time. Just horrible news.
