Fall Out Boy has revamped the original ‘Ghostbusters’ theme for the upcoming film, and it’s amazing. LISTEN to the song, which features Missy Elliot, here!
When you need a jam, who you gonna call? Fall Out Boy! Pete Wentz & Co. just dropped a reimagining of the Ghostbusters theme for the highly anticipated flick, and you need to give it a listen ASAP. Click through to listen!
Fall Out Boy brings their classic heavy-guitar sound to the song, making it explode from the opening lines “Can’t sleep and I’m home alone/Nighttime, my lights on”. Then there’s Missy Elliot‘s awesome rap, which totally makes this 2016 version of the theme:
I can’t sleep when I’m home alone
Night time my lights on
Woo, got me scared
Woo, and I need my bed
In my closet, down the hall
I see shadows all on my wall
Man, these monsters be big and tall
Ghostbusters, who you gon’ call?
They roll up to my house, they knocking at my door
They come busting in, kill all them ghosts
It’s so strange in my neighborhood
Look out the window and it ain’t too good
I ain’t afraid, so let’s get to it
Smoke these ghosts like backwoods
Needless to say, we are riding the Ghostbusters hype train hard. Though many fans take issue with the film being rebooted, we personally can’t wait for the reboot. It’s so fun to see old castmembers reunite with the new ones, such as when Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones hung out with Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts on Jimmy Kimmel earlier this month! Anyway, if FoB’s cover is any indication, we have tons to look forward to on the rest of the soundtrack — which is due July 15 — for the film.
