This is awesome! YouTuber Joey Graceffa premiered his new show ‘Escape the Night’ on June 22, and HollywoodLife.com got to sit down with him for an EXCLUSIVE interview! Watch to find out how he’s going to kill off his YouTube buddies, here.
If you loved Clue and the Saw movies, you’re going to love Joey Graceffa’s new show Escape the Night! That’s what the 25-year-old YouTuber told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY when he sat down for an interview with us on June 20. Find out why “most of the YouTubers on the show will die,” right here!
It’s finally here! Joey has been dreaming about his murder mystery YouTube Red show Escape The Night for years, and on June 22 it finally became a reality. He enlisted the help of huge YouTubers like Glozell, iJustine, Shane Dawson, MyLifeAsEva, Timothy DeLaGhetto, and Oli White, but that doesn’t mean they’ll be there for long! “Most of the YouTubers on the show will die,” Joey told HollywoodLife.com EXLUSIVELY. “And the way that they die is all very different, very crazy, all amazing deaths.”
But what’s crazier than the deaths on the show was how secretive he was before filming. “I didn’t give them much information about what the show was, so they had to kind of like just trust me,” Joey explained. Luckily, they went along with it, and iJustine explained why EXCLUSIVELY to HollywoodLife.com. “Joey is amazing, I figured ‘you haven’t let me down yet,’ and he still hasn’t. It’s unlike anything YouTube has seen before!”

Not only did Joey keep the plot a secret from his friends, but also himself! “Me and the YouTubers didn’t know what was going to happen,” he explained. “I wanted it to be up in the air. I didn’t know who was going to die each episode, that was up to us as the YouTubers.” It was more like playing a game than filming a show, really. “We’re just like a bunch of YouTubers playing make believe,” Joey laughed.
If you’re thinking of tuning in, here’s what you can expect: “it’s definitely more like Clue but the situations they’re put in are kind of similar to like Saw,” says Joey. But don’t worry, he says “there’s definitely a lot of humor, I didn’t want to take this too seriously.” See everything else he had to say by watching the full interview above, and don’t forget to tune in to Escape The Night every Wednesday starting June 22!
