Grab the tissues, because this week’s America’s Got Talent is a real tear-jerker! Especially after Simon Cowell, 56, used his golden buzzer on 16-year-old Calysta Bevier – a cancer survivor with the most gorgeous voice ever! See the touching moment for yourself, here.
Our hearts are exploding after the June 21 episode of America’s Got Talent! As soon as we saw Calysta, we knew she was going to slay it. She’s a beautiful girl with a super cute haircut, and adorable frock, and a bouncy attitude. However, when the judges mention her hairdo, she reveals that the short cut is the result of stage three ovarian cancer at the very young age of 16.
Luckily, Calysta is a survivor, and she’s now chasing her dream of becoming a singer! As soon as she began singing Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song,” we knew she has definitely picked the right career path! It was a beautiful moment. The song went perfectly with her inspiring story, and the raw, emotional version was simply breathtaking.
Once she finished, the judges couldn’t find enough great things to say about her. When it came time for Simon to speak, he said “I love everything about you. I just had this feeling when you walked out. I can’t explain it, just your spirit, your choice of song, your voice. I think you’re really special. I’ve just got this really incredible feeling about you.” Then he hit the golden buzzer and sent her straight through to the live show! They shared a touching hug on stage, and we couldn’t be more excited to see where this girl goes!
