Amy Schumer’s ‘VOGUE’ cover is simply stunning! The star smolders in the high-fashion shoot as she opens up about her personal life in anticipation of her upcoming memoir.
Congratulations are in order for Amy Schumer! Not only has she conquered the big screen and the stage, but her memoir, The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo, is coming out in August — and she landed the cover of VOGUE! The comedian, 35, smolders on the July 2016 cover, which was lensed by famed photog Annie Leibovitz. Inside, she candidly opens up about her personal life and her upcoming memoir.
Although she has made a career of joking about sex, Amy’s sexual history might surprise you. “I was always boy crazy, but I wasn’t promiscuous,” she tells the mag, saying that her best friends were Catholic-school girls with bad reputations. “They were acting out sexually years before me. I loved being around that, but I didn’t have sex until I was seventeen. And I didn’t give a blow job until I was well into college,” she says. “I’m sure I had some sort of dick in my mouth, but I wasn’t performing sex acts until later.”
Amy also addresses how she approaches feminism through her work. “I have this innate need to say things that I think are important for people to hear,” she says. “And I can’t stand injustice, so even if it makes people uncomfortable, I’m not afraid enough of conflict to keep my mouth shut.”
While she’s often on red carpets she admits that fashion isn’t really her thing. “I don’t think it’s stupid; there’s no moral reasoning,” she says. “It’s just not my thing.” She gestures toward her yoga pants and navy-blue puffer. “I just have this sense of entitlement that I should be able to feel comfortable at all times, like I could go to bed at any moment in what I’m wearing.”
