Talk about ab envy! Julianne Hough is always flaunting her toned tummy, and we really can’t blame her. But the former ‘Dancing With The Stars’ pro doesn’t just dance her way to her fit physique. Ahead, find out her ab workout just in time for summer.
Julianne Hough, 27, has made a career out of being fit, so it’s really no surprise that her body is insanely toned. In fact, it’s pretty much impossible to follow Jules on Instagram and not be motivated to follow in her fitness footsteps. Luckily, to help us all out, Julianne has shared some of her top flat ab tips.
Jules recently spoke to Us Weekly for their Best Bodies issue, telling the mag that her stomach is actually her favorite part of her body. “It never gets rolls even if I’m 15 pounds heavier,” she told the magazine. “I actually fluctuate quite regularly, but I distribute my weight very evenly.”
But if you’re not as lucky as Jules when it comes to gaining weight, she’s spilled details on how she keeps her body so toned so that the rest of us can still get in shape for summer. Speaking to Shape magazine, Julianne’s trainer Astrid Swan McGuire shared some of her favorite workouts. “Dancing is good cardio, but strength training gives you muscle tone and gets your metabolism burning at its peak,” she says of the exercises she developed for Julianne.
Astrid says to do one set of her pushup kickbacks, plie windmills, drawbridges, bungee raises, hip bridge march and star plank and row. Then, in between each set, do a cardio interval of either jumping rope 100 times, completing 20 burpees or three minutes on the treadmill (alternating 30 seconds of jogging with 30 seconds of sprinting). Shape says to do the following six moves six times three days a week.
Jules also insists her flat abs are also thanks to a healthy diet. On her blog, she wrote, “It’s not only about the exercise you do but also what you put in your body. Eating clean and getting proper hydration is an essential part to achieving a tight tummy.”
