Creator of ‘The Big Gay Musical,’ Fred Caruso, died June 13 of an apparent suicide in Las Vegas and left behind a disturbing, lengthy Facebook post. Why did the producer take his life and what did he want to say to his fans?
Fred Caruso, 41, an Off-Broadway producer died June 13 of an alleged suicide in Las Vegas. Fred scheduled an emotional suicide note to go live that night on “The Big Gay Musical”‘s Facebook page. You won’t believe how heartbreaking his message is, as it addresses his years of suffering.
An Off-Broadway producer and film director died Monday in an apparent suicide in Las Vegas after posting a chilling and long note to say goodbye on Facebook. The letter revealed that the creator had been suffering for years and tried to take his own life last week by taking 30 Ambien pills. Despite posting his own note to Facebook, Fred asked his friends not to post memorial posts on social media.
“WELL… Hey everyone – I have some good news – I will no longer be sending out BERNIE s***,” Fred wrote. “Its (sic) not because I support hiLIARy (sic) – its (sic) because I’m no longer alive. (yes I’ve been making bad jokes for 41 yrs (sic) and I intend to end things the way it began.) I have been forced to send this out through the BGM page – cause (sic) Facebook doesn’t allow you to delay posts on your personal page.” Fred continued: “For … most of my life I have been absolutely miserable – exact (sic) for when I was creating. I have nothing left in me to create. I truly don’t think I have any idea what love or happiness is. I have been incredibly lonely and at the same time – I hate being around people. I hate meeting new people and I’m always waiting for someone to stab me in the back. – lets just say I already have a whole culinary collection.”
Fred also stated in his letter that he has not forgiven anyone and has carried grudges for years against others: ‘To those people that I hate – I hope I have the ability to haunt you for the rest of your lives.” Fred said that the purpose of his post was so there would be no confusion or questions over what happened to him.
Fred made sure to let his fans know that no one could have saved him from taking his own life and that it was not anyone’s fault. How heartbreaking.
